Keiju produced his solo album based on the theme of appreciating “aqua” (water), one of the crucial elements needed on this wonderful planet, Earth. He produced six songs for this album in Kamiyama in Tokushima prefecture, Japan, surrounded by the sounds of nature in 2001. This is his first Japanese album for Keiju as he spent 18 years cultivating a career in Thailand; seven of the tracks on this album were written there. The one of the tracks from the album, “Miare”, describes the atmosphere of the ancient Japan based on the old traditional dance music of a shrine in Kamiyama. The album features the leading shamisen (Japanese traditional 3 stringed guitar) player Machiko Toyosawa. When you listen to this album, it’s like being in Jumon era.

Sacred Journey of Ku-Kai Volume 4 is the fourth in a series of a collection of works and peace-themed albums inspired by the classic Buddhist pilgrimage to the 88 sacred temples on Japan's remote Shikoku Island. Inspired by a journey taken by the beloved Buddhist monk Ku-Kai over a millennium ago, via the music contained in Sacred Journey of Ku-kai Volume 4, Kitaro continues to explore uncharted waters with his magnificently expansive vision and ever-questing spirit.
This album breaks new ground from the previous three CD's in this unique series of recordings. Steve Kindler's outstanding artistry on the violin adds a new dimension to the series. This expanded musical direction on Ku-Kai comes partially as a result of his unusual background and the location of the Temples spotlighted in volume 4. Violinist Kindler played in The Honolulu Symphony, but he cut his jazz chops as a member of John McLaughlin's fusion band making this particular musician a perfect fit for Kitaro's non-stop exploration of music's possibilities.
In a departure from volumes 1-3, the Temples featured in Ku-Kai 4 are located closer to the Pacific Ocean. In this release, Kitaro is channeling a uniquely different part of the island and the journey through his music. Kitaro, the consummate musical storyteller, is now relating a part of the legend of Ku-Kai that connects us to his story and 'peace' not easily told but ultimately understood.

Michina and Tomo met at The Fête De La Musique Festival in France. They became a permanent duo after performing together in 2007. In February 2010, they released their first album "Premier Souffle" in Japan and it was promoted soon after with a national tour in Japan and France. In the film Yuki & Nina (2009), eight-year-old French-Japanese girl Yuki receives news that her parents are divorcing and she will be returning to Japan with her mother. If Yuki grew to be a singer, she would be Michelle Michina of the duo Michina and Tomo. Their debut mini-album "premier soufflé" is a unique combination of piano-backed Japanese and French vocals accompanied with Tomohiro Maeda's bluesy guitar chords. Their soft sound is reminiscent of Japanese R&B powerhouse MISIA and Portuguese lounge singer Nicinha. The five tracks on the album switch back and forth between languages effortlessly, whether it's the passionate Mon Amour or the silly Mr. Fish. "Metro" is the debut album from experimental multi-instrumentalists Taku Hirano and Daniel Pearson, otherwise known as the band Tao Of Sound. The rich selection of songs on the album were all composed, arranged, produced, and performed by the duo, with the exception of two compositions from renowned musicians Kitaro and Kenji Bunch.
The album appears after an already impressive career run of performing and recording with a wide array of talents, including some of the biggest names in the American music industry, from almost every genre of popular music, including Jay-Z, Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Wonder, and Nine Inch Nails. Internationally, Tao of Sound has worked with Academy Award-winning film composer A.R. Rahman, and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. Chances are you've already been exposed to some of their soothing ambient soundscapes, as Tao Of Sound has contributed to the soundtracks of a number of television productions and feature films.

"I've always considered myself sort of a painter - of sound. For a while now, I've been experimenting with many different new sound textures, and this recording is the result. The more I worked on the pieces, the more I was aware that the music was heavily influenced by my recent trip to Japan. My choice of sonic tonal colors seemed to reflect my many experiences there, from riding the shinkansen, to the lush countryside, the temples, the cities in the rain, and even walking through Tokyo at early dawn in a wide-awake trance, due to jet lag. It all seems sort of surreal now, and I think my 'paintings' allow me to travel back to that special in my memory. And it makes me look forward to when I can visit again."

Update from Japan Earthquake and Tunami Relief Fund
Thanks to you who purchased our charity items for Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Fund, we have made donations through Globalgiving.com three times so far.
Here is the update from one of the project we support.
ShelterBox were highly praised for their response by Japanese families and authorities
Six months ago on March 11 at 05:46 local time Japan was struck by a 9 magnitude earthquake with the epicentre 120km off its north-eastern coast. The earthquake generated a tsunami devastating coastal communities with the most severe damage in three districts: Iwate, Miyagi and Fukushima.
ShelterBox were one of the first aid agencies to respond and were able to operate within the country due to their ability to work self-sufficiently. Within 24 hours of the disaster happening the first ShelterBox Response Team (SRT) was on the ground where they worked with the authorities to assess the areas of most need. Since then 1,680 boxes have been deployed to the area.
The speed, adeptness of the response and extent of aid delivered reserved special praise from the Japanese authorities that expressed their ‘deepest respect’ for ShelterBox’s work. The British Embassy in Tokyo has since sought specialist advice from ShelterBox regarding the most effective methods to operate in such an emergency.
During a recent visit made by ShelterBox, the mayor of Yamamoto-Cho, said that the tents provided by ShelterBox were made even more crucial by the lack of provisions from the Japanese government and other tent manufacturers whose resources had been strained due to the disaster.
John Leach, Head of Operations at ShelterBox, was present at the visit and said: ‘The Japanese were especially grateful for the tents as even in evacuation centres they were using them as private spaces and sleeping areas for families. This is incredibly important for morale and has given families a sense of dignity in the aftermath of disaster.
‘A handful of families were still living in ShelterBox tents as temporary accommodation was being built. But the presence of ShelterBox tents within the past six months has no doubt played a massive role in supporting these families while the country recovers.’
7 months have passed since the 9.1 magnitude earthquake and resulting tsunami hit Japan, yet they are still struggling to recover from the disaster.

Voice and Er-hu. Er-hu, a two string instrument originally from the Middle East, this instrument traveled East via the Silk road and developed along the way in China. Ema is one of a very few Er-hu players in Japan.
Ema is a distinguished vocalist as well, her voice adds a borderless sensitivity to their music. Ema's visual artwork adorns YURAI works' CDs and print media.
＊Esoh
Esoh performs sound, composes sound, and delves into the depth of sound, looking for rhythms overflowing with the life force. He has excellent command of a range of ethnic instruments, vocal techniques, piano and the electronic sound field, all of which he uses in both live performances and studio work.
In his search for roots and indigenous rhythm, from 1986 to 1992 he based himself at the Tenkawa Shrine, where Benzaiten, the goddess of the arts, is worshipped, performing the sacred drum for ceremonies in his function as priest and musician.
In 1987 he performed at the Montreux New Jazz Festival in Switzerland. In 1991 he toured as the musician for dancer Nasu Shizuno's tour of the performance "Amamishineri" in Okinawa, Rome, Paris and Greece. Currently he performs and records internationally with a number of bands including Wind Travelin' Band and Earth Tapestry. From 1996 to 1999 he participated in a duo project "Ametsuchi-no-Uta(Voices from The Heavens & The Earth)" with musician Ema (vocal, er-hu), producing 8 CDs and performing live throughout Japan.
Esoh also produced the Earth Music Festival annually in Osaka and Kyoto from 1993 to 1996. Now, he is creating a network of acoustic and ethnic musicians in Japan.

[Summary of this Project]
The north coast of Japan was hit by a horrible tsunami after a 9.0 magnitude earthquake that occurred 80 miles offshore. This fund is supporting organizations providing relief and aid to victims.
[What is the issue, problem, or challenge?]
Tsunami waves caused major destruction in northern Japan. The death toll has now officially crossed 10,000 & more than 17,000 are missing Nearly 300,000 are in temporary shelter. We are working primarily with local Japanese organizations on the ground to provide support. These are listed on the "Reports" tab of this Fund. We will post more details of the specific use of funds as we receive them.
[How will this project solve this problem?]
This project will disburse funds to organizations providing relief and emergency services to victims of the earthquake and tsunami.
We will be releasing such an amazing CD box set this November!!
The title is The Ultimate Kitaro Collection - Silk Road Journey and it will be available on UTB(Japanese TV station in LA), Domo online store etc on Tuesday 1st Wednesday.

Volume four of the Celestial Scenery compilation, Eternal Trip, is fresh on iTunes with a bit more aplomb than prior albums, also with smidge of chorus line and a dose of flute. If people really can astral travel, this is probably what the soundtrack would be like if they could plug their brains into a speaker system. You can hear Eternal Trip move around from its familiar, comfortable New Age sound to exploring more drumbeat rhythms. Celestial Scenery: Divine Spirit Vol.8
In Divine Spirits, the eighth album in the Celestial Scenery compilation, Kitaro draws his inspiration from the invisible deities and forces of nature. The Taiko is here, as well as its companion thunder. The keyboard is here as well, complementing the sound of water. The synthesizer ties it up into a nice little aural package. There’s even a live version of Mandala nestled in as the third track. Over-all, it’s a calming album with excellent texture that’s sure to please any long-standing Kitaro fan.
