Diverse stylings: Eggar returns to Big Stone Gap
Dave Eggar’s body of work is consistently greeted with rave reviews. It’s a luxury not often enjoyed by an artist who records in diverse genres and performs live in multiple musical categories.
The American cellist, pianist and composer has managed to find his niche, however, by using his unique ability to move between genres — be it pop, rock, jazz, R&B, new age, world or classical music — to effortlessly blur the lines between musical styles.
Local audiences who’ve missed him in the past can see that for themselves when Eggar brings his diverse stylings back to Big Stone Gap, Va., next week for a single performance.
The free concert, sponsored by the Southwest Virginia Museum and ProArt, will be held at 7 p.m., Oct. 5 under an event tent on the lawn of the Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park.

We would like to introduce our new and emerging music artist, Han.
Han is a rising composer incorporating his distinct sound to create unique and riveting music for a wide-range of genres.
~Biography~
Han graduated from the Berklee College of Music with a
degree in contemporary writing and production and
thereafter attained a Master of Music degree at the University of Miami, majoring in media writing and production.
He has scored an award winning feature documentary for
HBO, 'Bastards of the Party' (HBO/Fuqua Films), produced
by Antoine Fuqua (Director of Training Day). Han also worked
as an additional composer for numerous TV shows,
including: Surreal Life, Flavor of Love, My Fair Brady, I
Love New York, etc.

The 442nd Infantry Regiment was a segregated unit formed by the United States Military. This U.S. Army regiment, composed mainly of Japanese American soldiers, became one of the most decorated units for its size and length of service in the history of the United States Military. Due to their exceptional combat records and the high number of casualties, they were nicknamed the “Purple Heart Battalion.” 442, Extreme Patriots of WWII is a film about the 100th Battalion and the 442nd Regimental Combat Team who were first seen as the problem, but later proved to be the problem-solvers. It's a story of the 442 veterans, their struggle and their victories as American soldiers and civilians.
The Story-Scape contained on this CD intertwines narrated passages, extended dialogue and sound effects with Kitaro's resonant, multi-textured compositions. A powerful and riveting chapter of Japanese American history, this is the story told by Medal Of Honor recipients, decorated veterans, friends and family.
