TOPIC 4: Concert at Glover Garden in Nagasaki

I had a special show at Glover Garden in Nagasaki, Japan in May and collaborated with a flute player Junko Abe. This event was aimed to pray for world peace and live broadcasted in 3D to Shanghai and South Korea. It has been raining very heavy until the day before the concert, so I was very worried. But at the concert day, it was very sunny and so we could see beautiful night view in Nagasaki Harbor.

KITARO Select Wine

"Impressions 2007" Maboroshi Pinot Noir
with Kitaro's autograph on all bottles

750ml - $55.00

Very limited numbers available!

Purchase at Maboroshi Wine Estates !

Kitaro "Impressions" 2007 Maboroshi Pinot Noir debuts September 2, 2009. Golden Globe and Grammy award-winning prolific composer & musician, Kitaro is, in collaboration with Maboroshi Vineyard, preparing for the premier release of his “Impressions” 2007 Maboroshi Pinot Noir. Due to debut in September along with his newest album “Impressions of West Lake” ; a musical interpretation inspired by the ethereal Opera on Water performances at China’s West Lake, this hand selected barrel blend is a classical Pinot Noir with elegant aromas and tastes expressive of the native “terroir”. The art for the label is the same as his newest cd jacket of the performers dancing as if on top of the water itself. Quantities are extremely limited as each bottle is personally signed by Kitaro.
The story began nearly 14 or 15 years ago, while touring another custom crush winery (where Tom was employed prior to beginning the Maboroshi brand), Kitaro coincidentally met Tom. Talks of making a “Kitaro” wine at that time fell through. However, several years later, after Kitaro moved from his home deep in the Colorado mountains to Northern California’s Sebastopol, they would meet by chance again and the idea of making wine together became a reality; this time using the Maboroshi Vineyard Pinot Noir. We are extremely honored to have our wine be a part of Kitaro's journey. Now it is soon to be released and available in both California and Japan in timing with Kitaro’s September concert tour in Japan. For purchasing click to continue.

INTERVIEW WITH FUZJKO ON WEST VIRGINIA PUBLIC RADIO/NPR RADIO

INTERVIEW WITH FUZJKO ON WEST VIRGINIA PUBLIC RADIO/NPR RADIO

Pianist Fujiko Hemming hated playing the piano when she was a kid. She liked to paint, but her mother thought that she’d have a better career as a piano teacher.

When Hemming started to lose her hearing at the age of 16, she didn’t worry too much about how it would affect her as a musician. She took the money meant for a doctor’s appointment and spent it on going to see American movies instead.

Even now, as a musician who spent two years of her life completely unable to hear, she doesn’t dwell on regretting her youthful folly. Instead, she told me that she appreciates the view of the rest of the world that the movies gave her.

Listen to our interview, and you’ll hear what I mean:
