Fuzjko Hemming, piano - Works of BEETHOVEN, CHOPIN, LISZT, SCARLATTI, DEBUSSY - Domo
I discern Fuzjko to be a more natural Liszt acolyte than a Chopin interpreter, since the rhythmic freedom in Liszt seems more suited to her idiosyncrasies.
The offspring of a Japanese pianist mother and a Swedish father, Fuzjko Hemming is being touted as a keyboard star re-born since her “arrival” in 1999 as the subject of an NHK documentary. Sponsored by the likes of Samson Francois, Herbert von Karajan, and Leonard Bernstein, Hemming has gained a reputation for her performances of Chopin and Liszt, who figure prominently on this, her latest disc for Los Angeles-based Domo. Whether Hemming--who will tour the US beginning in July--will fulfill her publicity or merely devolve into what David Helfgott became, a musical eccentric and passing curiosity, remains to be seen. From this disc I discern Fuzjko to be a more natural Liszt acolyte than a Chopin interpreter, since the rhythmic freedom in Liszt seems more suited to her idiosyncrasies.

Kitaro World Report vol.6
Hello everyone. How are you doing?
My 2009 tour started from Asia and India.
I have played in Singapore and Malaysia many times,
but it was my first time to play in India.
We was going to play at Targe Mahal first, but
we need to change the place because of terrorism in Mumbai.
And finally, we could play in New Deli.
Local people told that we visited good time in India (March)
because of the temperature.
If we go to India in April, the temperature is over 120 F (50 C)!!!
It took for a long time to set up the stage and rehearsal,
so I was worried that we could play concert in India.
But, we had great 2 shows in India!
[My schedule in 2009]
I am going to play at Mt. Fuji (August).
After that, I play concert in Nara, Tokyo, and Nagoya (Japan) in September.
I have not had big concert in Japan for a while, so please come to my show!
It will be great show.
I am recording new album, "Sacred Journey of Ku-Kai Vol.4" in my Studio.
I will release it this year, so please wait for a while.
See you next time!
Peace,
Kitaro

Perhaps you’ve never heard traditional Japanese instruments, or perhaps you have and found their sound too disparate for Western tastes. Well, step back and try again, my friend, because this is the album for you! Even long-time fans of shamisen music, or even just fans of the Yoshida Kyoudai (or, Yoshida Brothers, as they are known internationally) will be amazed by the breadth of talent on this album. Not only have the Yoshida Brothers once more extended the boundaries of their genre explorations, but they have also assembled a number of skilled guest artists to accompany them on their journey through whooping your ass with sound.
Right from the beginning, “The National Anthem” will rock you out of your seat. Rather than, as expected, being a simple rehash of Japan’s national anthem, this song instead belongs to no other country than the Land Of Awesome. This is definitely the edgiest song they’ve ever made in their 10-year careers (and has been on my top-ten list since its first listen-through).
“Seven” keeps the rock vibe flowing, and mixes influences from bluegrass to rockabilly into its more classic-rock feel. Bjork fans would enjoy the vocal experimentations of “One Long River” (which, ironically, isn’t all that long after all, being the second-shortest song on the album). The smooth, pseudo-Celtic sounds of “Red Bird” give the listener a nice, quiet chance to catch their breath and wonder at the similarities to the Braveheart theme.
